Ludhiana, September 25, 2025 (News Team): On World Lung Day, Fortis Hospital, Ludhiana announced the launch of a Specialized Allergy & Asthma Clinic, reaffirming its commitment to improving respiratory health and lung care in the region.

The newly launched clinic will serve as a one-stop centre for diagnosis, treatment and long-term rehabilitation of asthma and allergy associated conditions. The clinic will assist individuals in managing a wide range of conditions, from long-term chronic illnesses to seasonal allergies and respiratory issues. The Allergy & Asthma Clinic seeks to greatly lower emergency episodes, hospitalizations and enhance the general quality of life for people living in Ludhiana and the surrounding areas through prompt and accurate diagnosis along with individualized treatment plans.
Speaking on the launch, Dr. Sushil Gupta, Additional Director – Pulmonology & Critical Care, Fortis Hospital Ludhiana, said: “Asthma is one of the most common yet underdiagnosed respiratory illnesses in India. We are seeing more and more patients, across age groups, struggling with frequent cough, breathlessness, wheezing, and allergies. Unfortunately, many of them come to us only when their condition has worsened into an emergency. Through this clinic, our aim is to promote early diagnosis, provide structured treatment, and guide patients on preventive care, so they can lead healthier and more active lives. Timely diagnosis and proper management can help patients lead normal, active lives without the constant fear of breathlessness or emergency hospital visits.”
Adding further, Dr. Randeep Singh, Associate Consultant – Pulmonology & Critical Care, Fortis Hospital Ludhiana, said: “The elderly are no longer the only ones who suffer from respiratory illnesses. Asthma and allergy-related problems are becoming more common among schoolchildren, young professionals, and stay-at-home moms. Asthma has become one of the most prevalent health issues in the state due to factors like poor air quality, dust exposure, and seasonal triggers. We hope that this dedicated clinic will reassure residents of Ludhiana and the surrounding areas that prompt assistance and professional care are accessible locally without requiring them to travel great distances. This will enhance our patients' overall quality of life in addition to aiding in better disease control.”
“The launch of the Asthma Clinic on World Lung Day is a significant step in strengthening our respiratory care services in Ludhiana. Asthma and other chronic lung conditions often remain undiagnosed or poorly managed due to lack of awareness and access. With this specialized clinic led by our expert pulmonologists, we aim to bridge this gap and provide world-class care close to home.” said Mr. Sunveer Singh Bhambra, Facility Director, Fortis Hospital Ludhiana.
